The Cub section is led by Ian Farley a.k.a. Akela with the support of the leadership team, a diverse and multi-skilled crew. This enables us to offer a wide ranging programme, from the traditional out-doors activities such as camping, cooking and canoeing to fun with craft and science or showing off any performing abilities.
We also like to utilise the facilities in the local area such as nature parks, museums and places of worship and to learn about our community.
Taking part in these activities is rewarded by the awarding of badges, either based on a specific topic or as part of the wider ranging challenge badges that go towards earning the Chief Scout's Silver award.
Whatever the activity…..we have fun!
The highest badge a cub can achieve is the Chief Scout's Silver Award.
It is gained by completing:
These are the badges that we focus on during your child's time in Scouts. Activity badges are awarded but most are gained by the Scout providing evidence that they have completed the requirements of each badge. A full list of Activity Badges and the requirements to get each indvidual one can be found here.
Cub Uniforms can be purchased online at the Scout Shop. They can also be bought from the local Army & Navy in Northwich. The Uniform is made up of 3 items of clothing. The shirt, trousers and neckerchief.
A Neckerchief will be given when your son/daughter is invested into the group. We ask that the full uniform is worn at each Scout night. When representing the group at parades or outings then smart shoes must be worn.
